Combermere Abbey’s Walled Gardens offer Romance and Style for outdoor weddings

Cheshire East Council have changed their wedding regulations so that couples can now take their vows outdoors ‘en plein air’ - and where better than in the heart of the world’s only fruit tree maze?

This unique maze is just one aspect of the five acres of restored Walled Gardens. The Glasshouse, a restored Victorian fan-shaped glass building, has 180° views over the Estate’s glorious gardens and can comfortably accommodate 120 seated guests.

Sarah Callander Beckett, owner of Combermere Abbey, commented,

“This is music to our ears as we have had so many requests from our bridal couples in the past and now it can happen. It is the beauty and enchantment of the Abbey’s gardens that sets our venue apart and being married in the maze will be simply magical!  This news has the additional benefit of ensuring increased prosperity for this popular part of rural North Shropshire.”

Combermere Abbey will be offering outdoor wedding ceremonies throughout the summer season from April to October. Couples will then formalise their union in The Glasshouse.
